With Father’s Day right around the corner I wanted to create a card for the special men in my life who are fathers. I decided to go with the Monochromatic look this time and use items from the Simply Elegant Suite. I used the Designer Series Paper, silver twine and Elegant Tag Punch. For this card I also used the Painted Textures 3D embossing folder. Have fun recreating this elegant looking card for that special someone in your life.
Components for the card
Smoky Slate – 4 x 5 ¼, 3 ¾ x ¾, 4 ½ x 3 ¼, 5 x 3 ¾ and a scrap for the Elegant Tag
Basic Black – 8 ½ x 5 ½, 2 7/8 x 2 7/8, 3 ½ x 4 ¾, 1 x 4 and a scrap for the Elegant Tag
Simply Elegant Designer Series Paper – 4 coordinating pieces – 1 ¼ x 1 ¼
Simply Elegant Trim – 10 inches of the Silver Twine
I used A Good Man and Well Said stamp sets for my sentiments
Directions for the card
Emboss the Smoky Slate 4 x 5 ¼ using the Painted Textures 3D embossing folder and adhere with dimensional to the front of the card.
Adhere the 4 pieces of 1 ¼ x 1 ¼ Simply Elegant DSP to the Basic Black 2 7/8 x 2 7/8 card stock and adhere approximately 1/2 inch from the top of the embossed card front – centering it side to side
Place your tag a little off center on top of the above piece to determine placement of your stamp. (yes it is not straight – you want the tag a little off center) Now remove your tag and stamp it with ‘It’s your Day’.
Stamp ‘Relax Your Way’! on the Smoky Slate 3 ¾ x ¾ and then adhere it to the Basic Black 1 x 4 strip and adhere with dimensional to the front bottom of the card (center it so you have the same amount of space top and bottom on the embossed card front.
Stamp the ‘Being a good Dad starts with being a good man’ at the top of the Smoky Slate 4 ½ x 3 ¼, then stamp ‘Happy’ and ‘Father’s Day’ (both from Well Said stamp set) adhere to the Basic Black 3 ½ x 4 ¾ and then adhere to the Smoky Slate 5 x 3 ¾ and then to the inside of the card.
Adhere the stamped Smoky Slate tag to the Basic Black tag and then cut your twine in half and tie to the tag and knot it, then adhere to the card (off centered) using dimensional. Trim the twine as needed.
I hope you enjoyed making this card as much as I enjoyed sharing it with you!
