Split Front Card
After seeing a few of these Split Front cards on Pinterest and Facebook, I knew I had to try it using the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper. Try this with any of your designer Series Paper.
Paper:
Card Base – 11 x 4 1/4 – Gorgeous Grape #146987
Layers for front of card – Pretty Peacock #150880 – 4 1/8 x 1 7/8, 4 1/8 x 1 3/8
Designer Series Paper (DSP) – Perennial Lavender #162593 – 4 x 1 ¾ and 4 x 1 ¼ cut with pattern in horizontal direction, 4 x 1 ¾ cut with pattern in vertical direction – *Note – if you are not using a directional pattern then it does not matter how you cut the DSP.
Very Vanilla – 5 ¼ x 4 and scrap for die cutting label
Vellum – large scrap
Stamps – Keeping Tabs #163540 and Something Fancy #160416
Ink – Pretty Peacock #150880
Dies – Unbounded Love Dies #163383 and Layering Oval Dies Retired #151771
Instructions:
- Die-cut the vellum using the 4th largest Layering Oval or Layering Scalloped Oval with precision.
- Die cut the Very Vanilla scrap using the scalloped oval from Unbounded Love Dies
- Die cut largest Pretty Peacock piece using the scalloped center oval die from Unbounded Love Dies
- Stamp the sentiment onto the Very Vanilla die cut piece and then adhere the Pretty Peacock to the top, and then adhere to the Vellum piece (try only putting adhesive on the left side so the glue does not show through)
- Score card base 5 ½, then cut 1 ½ from one side and then trim another 2 inches from same side.
- Adhere the layers together and then adhere 4 1/8 x 1 7/8 Pretty peacock to the top of the card
- Using dimensionals adhere the vertical piece to the top of the front layer off to the left had side
- Align the bottom layer to the bottom of the card and then adhere to vertical piece again using dimensionals to the bottom front portion of the card
- Stamp sentiment in the center of the Very Vanilla piece so it does not show through to the front.
